This week was wild! I hope you all have been paying attention to the weather. It snowed 9” Wednesday afternoon! It went from being in the 90’s for weeks at a time, then suddenly dropped to 20 degrees in a matter of minutes. The poor crops on the farm didn’t know what to do so they began to huddle together for warmth and created the purple-watertomatolope! Talk about a super-fruit (eat your heart out avocado).
Just kidding, I left for vacation on Tuesday night so this is just my prediction for how the week is going to go. It’s probably as accurate a prediction as any weather station. I did, however, manage to get a few habanero peppers. Being the good, brave, farmer that I am, I did try one to make sure it’s up to standard. It wasn’t even a little wussy bite either! I did run to my water glass though. Also, pro tip, if you’re trying peppers, don’t do it in the morning when the only beverage nearby is your coffee… Fire does not fight fire in this case.
We also started picking our larger planting of sweet corn! Now we should have plenty for everyone for weeks to come grab you a few ears for the family.Just about everything is coming in from the field right now. The shelves are stocked, the prices are low and the produce is fresh. Come and get it!
